In my message design class we were given the task to create a campaign that would increase recruitment to Chapman University. After meeting with the administration and marketing directors of the university my group decided that launching a University Snapchat channel would be a valuable recruitment strategy. Since the University did not have an account on Snapchat I worked with the social media manager to create guidelines for student usage of the account. I also met with academic advisors from each school to understand what the programs the school wanted to promote and to receive names of students they wanted to represent their school on the Snapchat platform. I coordinated four weeks of student takeovers where students were able to post their classes, activities, and more. The university Snapchat gained over 300 followers in the first week and is still used by the University.
